Trophies In Rotterdam

It was a successful weekend for ATA at the Dutch Masters, with the entire team medaling. There were silvers for Donna and Yash; and bronzes for Santi, Jordaine, Yousef, Samuel, Daniel R, Sam and Daniel O.

Congratulations to all of you, and thank you to our coaches for the weekend: Richard, Stephanie and Feyi.

European Poomsae Championships 2017

Congratulations to our very own Donna, who has been selected to represent Great Britain in the 2017 Eurpoean Poomsae Championships in Rhodes on 7-8 May.

She will be competing in the Under 14s Team Event. We wish her well.

Grading. 10 December 2016

The next grading at Thornton Heath Leisure Centre will be on Saturday 10 December 2016.

Anyone wishing to grade should obtain a grading application form from Richard, Amin or Phil; and should complete and return it with the appropriate fee as soon as possible.

You must have a valid licence to take part in the grading. If you have any queries regarding your licence, please speak with Phil.

No Training Bank Holiday Monday 29 August 2016

The leisure centre will close early due to the bank holiday, so there will be no training session on Monday evening.

Summer camp will be as normal between 9:00 and 4:00. Everyone welcome..

London Team Poomsae Squad Training 11th September 2016

ATA is hosting 1st London Team Poomsae Squad Training. Training will be conducted by GM Azim, Master Winston Casaclang, Master Tricia Hopkins, Master Chan Sau and many more. September 11th 1pm till 4pm 2016

ATA Summary Camp Starting July 25th

Monday's to Fridays 9am till 4.30pm. Activities will include Swimming, Running, Taekwondo (Sparring and Poomsae), Football, Basketball,Painting Art work and more fun fun fun.

Note: open to Mostly Taekwondo students.

ATA presents Olympian Seminar and Workshop featuring Mahama Cho alongside his Team GB mates and ex-team mates, Christian Mcneish Junior Olympics medalist, Commonwealth Champion, Feyi Pearce, Amin Badr both European Medalists, Stephanie Allen Commonwealth Medalist and special guests.
The one of the kind Seminar will allow Taekwondo Clubs members to meet and train with Olympians and European level champions.
Get insight into their winning techniques, ring experience and get yourself and/ or your students inspired by their success stories.
The seminar enrolment is on a 1st come -1st served basis, so secure your and/ or your Club place at the Seminar now.

WIN! Seminar participants will also have a chance to win a trip to Manchester and opportunity to train with the Team GB.

GB National Poomsae Championship

Very proud of all the ATA student that competed this weekend at GB National Poomsae Championship. Winston Casaclang, Darhys Nugent Thu-hoang Nguyen Yash Patel, Donna Harrison Nguyen, Shai Hamilton, Dharnel Nugent, Georgia Stanley.
Between them they won 9 medals and 3 more medals from Juventus TKD.

Congratulations to my students who worked very hard and all carry the motto with them at all time, Hard Work and Dedication. I’m very proud of my ATA students, Darhys Nugent re-selected, Thu-hoang Nguyen, and Renee Campbell from JUV all selected into GB Poomsae Team. ATA works very hard in both sport Taekwondo and Traditional Taekwondo. Let’s keep working harder Team ATA.

Feyi Pearce has recieved a sports lifetime achievement award from his school Arch Bishop Tenisson, also he has been selected to represent GB at the junior European Championships in Portugal.

Congratulations to Winston, Gold in both individual and pairs at this years Scottish Open Poomsae Championships.

ATA fighters did themselves very proud today. Feyi Pearce now 5 times British Champion. James Allen silver medal at his 1st Nationals. Marvin Brown returns back in the ring today very strong after a very long break from Taekwondo. He proves that he’s still got what it takes to be a champion.

Once again ATA has performed well in this weekends grading. Richard Allen, Winston Casaclang, Tricia Hopkins and James Allen have been successful in this years Dan grading with Winston attaining 4th Dan, Tricia 3rd Dan and our newest black belt James. 
A big congratulation to Richard gaining his 5th Dan and now afforded the title Master.

GB Taekwondo are pleased to announce that Feyi Pearce has been selected for the 2012 Junior World Championships to be held in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
The competition begins on Wednesday 4 April and concludes on Sunday 8 April.

Richard Allen and ATA students Sian Brizelden, and Chelsea Chapman have been selected to assist at the London 2012 Olympic Games along with 8 other young taekwondo athletes. Each youngster will walk the Olympians to the ring for their matches and then sit ringside for all of the action.
Unity Taekwondo are a team of young people from various backgrounds, clubs and cities but all with one unifying pastime, Olympic Taekwondo. Their passion for taekwondo along with their collective attitude and behaviour saw them through a recent interview in London. The job? Olympic Games Maker. Richard as team leader along with Ross Eden will supervise the youngsters and ensure they have a safe and fun experience of the greatest sporting show on earth.

The ATA were proud to hold a poomsae seminar today led by Melissa Mcsorley and Winston Casaclang. Participants from the London area were given expert tuition in both techniques and preparation. The groups were then split into grades and with the assistance of Richard and Sian were then show cased before each other.
A big thank you to Winston and Melissa for their clear and concise explanations and instructions
We had also been asked to participate in the Thornton Heath Festival also on Sunday 18th Sept after 12pm where both junior and senior team members gave basic technique and poomsae demonstrations.

Guests were given a poomsae demonstration by Melissa Mcsorley (5 x british champion) and Winston casaclang, followed by our own Dharys, Sian and Luke. Potential new students were then invited to join in a formal training session. See gallery for photos.
